Airtel DRC is a mobile carrier operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The company began operations in 2000 as a GSM mobile services provider. Airtel DRC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtel Africa, a holding company for Indian telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel. Airtel Africa operates in Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

Airtel DRC provides 2G GSM services over the 900 MHz band, and in May 2013 launched a 3G UMTS network over the B1 (2100 MHz) band providing voice and HSPA+ data services up to 21 Mbps.
