Overview

Aotearoa New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses - the North Island, and the South Island, and around 600 smaller islands.

Aotearoa New Zealand is a member of the ITU and as such follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-3. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), and the Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
