Overview
The Marshall Islands, officially the Republic of the Marshall Islands, is an island country located near the equator in the Pacific Ocean, slightly west of the International Date Line. Geographically, the country is part of the larger island group of Micronesia. The country consists of a total of 29 atolls and five isolated islands situated in about 470,000 km2 of the Pacific.
Marshall Islands is a member of the ITU and as such follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-3. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the National Telecommunications Authority is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
