Overview

Bonaire is an island in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Together with Aruba and Curaçao, it forms the group known as the ABC islands or Caribbean Netherlands, less than a hundred miles off the north coast of South America near the western part of Venezuela.

Bonaire is not a member of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) however falls under management of the Netherlands who are. Bonaire voluntarily follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-2. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post, and the Agentschap Telecom is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
