Overview
The Philippines (Pilipinas), officially the Republic of the Philippines, is a unitary sovereign state and island country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7,641 islands.
Philippines is a member of the ITU and as such follows radio frequency harmonisation principles according to ITU-R Region-3. The regulatory body governing communications policy is the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is charged with regulating the country's radio frequency spectrum activities such as planning, allocations, and licencing.
